It Started so Nicely too.

That was an MLB regular season to forget and yet, at the same time it's one to remember, because it started so well.  On the 17th of June we had actually made the target of 5 pts profit. We were actually +5.31 pts, but for the fact that included in that profit figure were a number of season long bets on teams to win the World Series.  I'm going to put up the list of World Series bets now, including the ones that have already lost.  Following that will be a list of the ones we still have running.  We now need those season long bets to dig us out of a punting hole!  As of writing the hole is this deep...

TAM  -2.645 pts

The Dangerous Method   -4.975 pts

 The Safe Method -5.99 pts

TheBaseballTipper 2015  - 28.615 pts

Assessment of the above.

As was the situation last year we have one team that can save the day for us.  Last year it was the Kansas City Royals, this year it's the Texas Rangers.  Any other team winning the World Series means that we'll probably be relying on UK football to get us out of trouble.  Last year the Royals had to negotiate the Wild Card game.  This year Texas avoid that one game lottery, but they have to face the Toronto Blue Jays in an American League Divisional Series and the Blue Jays have the advantage that three of the games in this series will be played in Toronto and they are awesome at home, the best in the American League, so we need Texas to get off to a fast start on Thursday.  A win in that first game would be huge for us in that the price for Toronto to win the World Series might drift to 8-1 and we'd be able to have a 4 pts bet on them.  I'm not saying we will, but we might...

Moving to the National League, we are vey fortunate in that the only two teams that we haven't had a bet on are playing one another in the National League Divisional Series.  So, that gets one of them out of the way.  They are the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Unfortunately this removes the possibility that they could both be knocked out before the  NL Championship Series!  The Wild Card game is a coin flip but we would prefer a Pittsburgh win.  It's worth 1.5 pts to us!  Points that could be precious in the UK football season...which is where, barring a Texas World Series win, we are headed!

I'm going to try to keep bets on the post season to a minimum because I am confident that if we have 25 pts left in the punting bank we can turn this diabolical punting situation around on the football.
