Mid-Season Misery.

Yesterday's e-mail:

Hi Folks,

These will be the last tips until 21st July.  Baseball has it's mid-season break starting tomorrow and I am tagging a few days on to the end of that to freshen my brain up for the second-half, the business end, of the season.

You are advised to have  a 0.5 pt single on St Louis Cardinals (Cooney) to beat Pittsburgh Pirates (Liriano) @ 6-4 available with BoylesportsBet365 ,  & bwin.

It will be settled at 29-20 which you can get from BetVictor, Ladbrokes, Betfair Sportsbook  & Titanbet

You are also advised to have a 0.2 pt win double on St Louis Cardinals to beat Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Angels (Heaney) to beat Seattle Mariners (Walker).

You can get 4.04-1 with betway.

It will be settled at the 4-1 you can get from, Boylesports, Titanbet, UK Sportsbook & winner.com.

Total stake 0.7 pt.

First pitch 18.10.

Good luck while I'm away!

Results

St. Louis Cardinals 5-6 Pittsburgh Pirates

Los Angeles Angels 10-3 Seattle Mariners

That is a very dispiriting way to reach the half-way point in the 2015 MLB season. 5-3 up in the middle of the tenth and the Cards find a way to lose.  Not pretty.  It did over 2 pts damage to the bankroll and untold damage to morale.  What is needed right now is a break from baseball and luckily for me there is one!

On the positive side Pittsburgh have shown that they are a team for the big game which makes our 0.2 pt to return 4.9 pts on them to win the World Series look like a value bet.  There is, however a long way to go before the post-season, let alone the World Series.

The result of the All-Star game is going to be the next big pointer to who is likely to win the World Series.  In general I get the impression that there is greater quality in depth in AL sides, so if they win the Mid-season classic, I fancy that the World Series winners will be the AL side that plays in it, with the following, (Lifted from Wikipedia) being the reason why I will not be advising a bet on the All-Star game!

As Bob Ryan of The Boston Globe wrote in July 2015:
"So now we have a game that’s not real baseball determining which league hosts Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 in the World Series. It’s not a game if pitchers throw one inning. It's not a game if managers try to get everyone on a bloated roster into the game. It's not a game if every franchise, no matter how wretched, has to put a player on the team ... If the game is going to count, tell the managers to channel their inner Connie Mack and go for it."[22]

However, apparently contrary to what I have written I will not be totally shutting down for the next week.  Just because there are no baseball tips does not mean that there aren't a couple of seriously good opportunities to make a profit.  One is in The Open at St. Andrews.  A post regarding that will go up later on today.

There is also the small matter of the second Ashes Test at Lord's.  There will be some advice on that too, so keep your eyes peeled either on here or on the twitter feed for information of what's being advised for TAM.

As always, subscribers will get the advice, via e-mail, at least an hour before it is published on this blog!
