How Do You Break a Losing Run?

Yesterday's e-mail went like this:

I am confident about this one. So much so, in fact that if I were trying to close this season out with bigger and bigger accumulators until our starting bank disappeared we'd be having 5 pts on this one...but we're not, so instead:

You are advised to have a 0.9 pt double on:

Washington Nationals ( Fister ) to beat Cincinnati Reds ( DeSclafani ) @ 4-5
                                       &
Pittsburgh Pirates ( Burnett ) to beat San Diego Padres ( Shields ) @ 5-6

The best prices are currently as follows:

UK Sportsbook  2.29-1

Coral Icon 50x28 2.24-1

  2.24-1

 2.24-1

  2.24-1

BetVictor 2.24-1

bwin 2.24-1

sportingbet 2.20-1

Betway 2.19

You are advised to get the best price you can and you are advised not to bet at all if you can't get odds of better than 1.6-1.

There are enough bookies offering 2.24-1 or better for me to feel safe that you will be able to get the price. So, in the unlikely event that we win tonight that's the price at which the winning bet will be settled!

Results

Washington Nationals 2-3 Cincinnati Reds

Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 San Diego Padres

Total stake 0.9 pt.  Return 0.00 pts.  Loss 0.9 pt.

Current profit and loss standing for TheBaseballTipper 2015 -4.55 pts.

Current profit and loss standing for TAM -0.6 pt.

Last night's results demonstrate why discipline is absolutely crucial when gambling.  I was confident that both selections would win.  I was wrong.  If I had lumped on the losses would be double what they are.  As it is we have 4.1 pts that we wouldn't otherwise have had  to get us to the 5pt profit target for the season.  Discipline is key.   Tonight's bet will be 0.8 pt.
