A Nice Little Earner.

First up yesterday's e-mail:

From "Andy Walsh" <thefootytipper@gmail.com>
To "Andrew Walsh" <post@thetipper.co.uk>
Date Tue, 16 Jun 2015 17:00:42 +0100
Subject Tonight's, the 16th June 2015 selections.

This may look like we're chasing our 'losses', but I assure you we're not.  Both these bets represent value, which is why you are advised to increase the stakes.

Firstly, you are advised to have a 1 pt win single on Texas Rangers (Gonzales) to beat Los Angeles Dodgers (Anderson) @ 6-5 a good price that can be found at Betfair,  Boylesports,  888.com, Unibet UK Sportsbook & 32Red as of writing @ 17.00 BST.

Secondly, you are advised to have a 0.5 pt double on:

Texas Rangers to beat Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates (Morton) to beat Chicago White Sox (Quintana) @ 2.67-1 which you can get from UK Sportsbook.

There is also 2.61-1 which you can find at 888.com, Unibet & 32Red.

This bet will be settled at 2.56 which you can find at Betfair &  Boylesports.

Total stake 1.5 pts.

Get your bets on as soon as you can these prices are shortening all the time.  Constant adjustment is why this e-mail is late.

First pitch 18.45 BST

Results

Pittsburgh Pirates 3-0 Chicago White Sox

Texas Rangers 3-2 Los Angeles Dodgers*

There is a mistake in the e-mail.  I quote from it, 'This bet will be settled at 2.56 which you can find at Betfair &  Boylesports.'  If you placed the bet you will have immediately found that you were going to be paid 3.56 i.e. 2.56-1.  I'm sure none of you would be daft enough to refuse a price that is bigger than advertised, but only slightly smaller than the best price available.
Anyway the bets work out to return the following...although you'd probably best check it!

*This score is only a winner if the named starting pitchers threw the first pitch for both teams.  As of writing this @ 10.00 BST mlb.com seems to have crashed, so I can't be certain that this is the case.  There is also much work to be done on both tonight's baseball and this afternoons' Royal Ascot, so this post is going to be published and if the profit and loss needs adjusting down later, so be it.  For now I want to bask in the warm glow of success!

It's all good at 10.10 BST.  Both Gonzales and Anderson started.  Profit and loss is as stated!

Total stake 1.50 pt.  Return 3.98 pts.  Profit 2.48 pts.

Current profit and loss standing for TheBaseballTipper 2015  +3.38 pts.
