We're Half Way.

At the moment it's all going horribly wrong.  I kid you not when I tell you that I was quietly confident that all five of my picks would win.  Had you told me that the best result I would get out of that round of fixtures would be the Barnsley versus Oldham game being postponed, I'd have thought you were having a laugh.  Either that or all the games were postponed and you thought that Oldham were going to win it.

We've just about reached the mid-point of the season and things are looking like this:

Current standings @ 21.00 GMT on 30th December 2014

The Safe Method  -2.681 pt. (This includes 1 pt Man Utd. @ 11-2 & 0.1 pt @ 8-1 to win the Premier League as lost money)

The Dangerous Method +0.763 pts (This includes 2 pts Man Utd. @ 11-2 & 0.1 pt @ 8-1 to win the Premier League as lost money.

Now, there's no use pretending that things are going well.  They are not.  All I can do is to offer my apologies and tell you that every single selection I have given you and that includes the two sides that lost last night, has represented value at the prices on offer from the various bookmakers.  You have to bear in mind that 90% of them are odds against and that means they're not going to win every time...I have to concede that once in a while would be nice.

We have a sufficient bankroll to start chasing our losses, but that way lies disaster.  Discipline and self-control are the watchwords at this time of the season.  Going out and splashing the cash is a bit like firing a manager and hiring a new one who will spend lots of money on average players to stave off relegation.  Unless the manager's name is Tony Pulis, you're probably throwing good money after bad.  If West Brom get him they will survive.  If Alan Pardew goes to Palace we'll see how good a manager he really is.  It's actually all quite exciting !

I'm not going to give you any tips on the matches that are being played today, what I am going to do however is to advise you, for both The Safe Method & The Dangerous Method to have the following season long bets, much in the manner that TheBaseballTipper advised you to have during the MLB season.

You are advised to have:

1 pt Bournemouth @ 2-1 to win the Championship in season 2014/15

0.5 pt Ipswich @ 11-2 to win the Championship in season 2014/15

The above prices for both teams can be found at  bet365 & www.stanjames.com.

These bets will be included as a loss in the P&L accounts for both methods until the end of the season.

Oh yes, I almost forgot to tell you, The Proper Footytipping Season Starts Now Method is warming up in the wings.
